The House of Whispers – Thrilling and Involving

If I was trapped on uninhabited island, the book The House of Whispers would probably save me from dying of boredom. This is the detective novel that can be read over and over again without a doubt. So, let me tell you about this spectacular reading.
Someone told me this book was very good and I decided I should have some good reading for my flight from New York to London. The book is really great. I think some amateurs of suspense genre may confuse it with old-fashioned suspense novels, though it is not. The only antique flavor it has is the time and place mixture. During the entire novel I was seriously confused as per what time is described. Either it was 50’s or 60’s or sometimes it seemed to be the nineteenth century, I liked everything. However, it was only me concerning about time settings - some of my friends read a book and they did not notice spectacular differences . I guess this maybe because I write help with dissertation and writing dissertation on History which is very reflexive on everything I do. Although I liked the plot, I think the book lacks some depth of characters and the entire page of French was irrelevant.
Anyway, you should read this book, indeed, especially if you like detectives and mystery crimes. I was totally captured by reading and did not notice how we landed in London.
